My first red lippie!

Yes, I am a makeup artist, Yes, I use makeup, Yes, I apply makeup for clients...I know...so it would come as a surprise to you that I have never worn red lipstick (at least until last Sunday). Told myself that this was it, I would use RED and not give a hoot, I had reached my final lipstick destination (for red lipstick that is). Maybe I was discouraged earlier on in the year, you see, I had walked into a MAC store in Brighton in the UK and was ready with full mental assurance that their Ruby Woo lipstick was a perfect match for my lips. I guess I do not have to tell you all that my hopes were terribly dashed and my confidence eroded (with the benefit of hindsight, maybe it was even the lighting in the store or some other force working against my red lipstick euphoria, lol). 

Anyways, this fateful Sunday, I have this mental assurance (once again) that I would do fine using a red lipstick. I'm sure part of my confidence came from the fact that I wore a dress which had flecks of red in it. So...to cut my lovely story short, I prepare my face, flawless foundation and powder, soft natural eyes and yes, MaryKay Red Salsa lipstick. The result? The picture speaks for itself. And a very pleased me has decided that the red lipstick barrier has been broken. Praise God!
